I have a Hewlett Packard Pavillion with a Xtasy 5564 GeForce 2 MM/MX400 64mb 3-D Accelerator and a Pentium 3 855Mghz Processor with 128 MB of RAM, and Windows ME. So far, I am still in Cossacks - European Wars, I've completed the Caribbean Pirates and Independence War campaigns, and have arrived at the 10th scenario of the French campaign. I remember getting access to a list of background programs and unchecking all the boxes except Explorer and Systray so the other crap wouldn't start up with windows to save time, but now I have no idea how to get back to that list and get those programs running again. Hi all, Being that I am interested in SP first and foremost, I got into Cossacks with the intention of playing through all the campaigns. I can't play Cossacks (I installed it on a friends computer and it plays fine with his, as long as those Background tasks are running, since we have identical rigs the only difference is those background programs). UPLOADERS NOTE: To make Windows 10 work Cossacks 2, install a patch and fix. Somehow or another I unchecked a program that enables Direct Draw enhancement (Though C&C: TS worked better, Cossacks can't load and crashes), I get the error "DIRECT DRAW INT FAILED" then "DIRECT DRAW INT caused a fatal error in dmcr.exe". a RTS historical war game sequel to Cossacks: European Wars. I got tired of having to go through the "Close Program Box" just to shut down programs that no one needs (Virus scan, and other programs that automatically start when your computer loads windows). You see, a long time ago in the age of Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun I did some fiddling with so-called background tasks, to get the performance up. Hi, everyone! I'm a newcomer here and I need some help.
